OLGA BEZVERKHAYA
About the practice
Hello! I am Olga Bezverkhaya
I am a Milan-based artist working primarily with acrylic on canvas. My paintings are inspired by everyday moments, family, and familiar spaces. I often return to the imagery of a garden — an echo of my childhood memories and a sanctuary where time once seemed to move more slowly.

I usually start with a scene or a photograph and gradually change it as I paint. I simplify some details, soften others and let parts of the image become blurred or almost disappear. Colours, shapes and layers start to work together in a less literal way, turning a familiar scene into something that feels closer to a memory or a feeling.

I paint with translucent glazes and drips of acrylic, letting images blur and partially dissolve. I sometimes add watercolour pencils and oil pastels to introduce delicate lines and details.

It is my way of holding onto a moment — capturing it as if it were already becoming a memory while still happening. I am drawn to quiet tenderness, to moments that feel almost weightless, and to the sense of lightness they leave behind.
